Firstly, thank you for providing the service that you do! Its really hard trying to find a wedding planner for abroad weddings and knowing who to trust, via the Internet, for such a big day in your life is quite daunting. From the start we knew we had made the right choice and never once were we worried about anything – although I am sure with all the pointless emails I have sent you, you wouldn’t believe that!

We flew to NY 5th December ready for our wedding on the 8th. There were a few health problems with a few of our guests when we got there (2 bridesmaids, best man and myself included; note to self, don’t get tonsillitis the day before you fly to the US or it will cost you $270 to see the doctor!!) and it absolutely tipped it down with rain the day before the wedding! However a trip to see Santa at Macy’s & my friend proposing to his girlfriend at the Rockefeller tree brightened up the day.

We stayed at the Hotel Beacon on the Upper West Side and it was superb- that’s not a word I use alot but it felt like the right one to describe the hotel. The location was brilliant, about half an hour walk down Broadway to get to Times Square or through Central Park to 5th Ave, but not slap bang in the centre of all the hustle & bustle. It was a ‘normal’ neighbourhood but with a Sephora store literally on the next block – I was in HEAVEN as it’s my favourite shop! When we checked in, we explained we were here for our wedding and cheekily asked for an upgrade and they put us in a king room on the top (25th) floor – the view looked out onto the Hudson and we were higher than almost every building from the hotel to the river – it was amazing. I would definitely recommend the hotel to any of your future NY clients!

The night before the wedding Alan went down to stay at the Stanford Hotel on 32nd street where 1 of my bridesmaids and maid of honour (Lucy) were staying Lucy came up to stay with me (they did a bed swap!) so we were able to keep that tradition of not seeing each other before the wedding – which was really important to us. I had planned to have a NY hen do at Serendipity 3 earlier in the week but due to my illness, we had to cancel. So my mum, Lucy & I had a mini hen do in my giant bed, drinking Martini Asti and playing Mr and Mrs that Lucy had planned for me!

I don’t know if any of your other brides have woken up on their wedding day being serenaded right into their ear by their maid of honour singing a medley of wedding songs to them? No? Well that was my wake up!! It was fab! Not only was that a lovely way to wake up, but we had slept with the blinds open so we could fall asleep looking at the stars and awoke to a brilliant blue, cloudless sky with bright sunshine bursting through the window – the perfect day. After my mum, dad, sister (and also bridesmaid)and her boyfriend and their little boy came up to my room, we ordered breakfast from a little place called Gigi’s who delivered to the room! Chocolate chip pancakes with syrup – what a wedding breakfast! From then on I have NO idea where the time went! Next thing I know I am down in my parents room with my sister and best friend getting me into my dress – we are 15 minutes late for the car and still have to lace me in! Next discovery is that my mum has taken my wedding shoes to the ceremony location so I had to go out in my Vans trainers – which, actually, was a good idea as it was much comfier walking in them!
We chose to get married in December as we love Christmas and it could not have been more fitting than setting off in the limo to the ceremony with ‘It’s the most wonderful time of the year’ being played on the radio.

I forgot to mention our meeting with Catarina! It was great, she is wonderful & totally loves weddings & people so she is perfect for the job. I could go on and on and write a whole essay about getting the marriage licence (FYI brides, the people at City Hall are VERY miserable so don’t go expecting a joyous occasion and them being really happy for you! We had to tell our guy that we didn’t have social security numbers 3 times and that was after we had told him we were British and he had our passports in his hands!) then meeting Cat and her sorting out confetti for us the day before and just being so organised. But I will skip that and get back to the wedding day

Cat met us at the entrance to Central Park along with Wendy the photographer and we walked, probably about 5 minutes, through the park to Belvedere Castle. I was glad of my trainers as due to the rain the day before, there were a few puddles to hop over. So many people were walking past us and saying congratulations and taking pictures! There were school trips of children who were just amazed as they walked past us and I waved at them all and they waved back and it was so lovely. Wendy captured a picture of me waving at them, I look like I think I am royalty or something!!

The ceremony itself was officiated by Susannah who we had emailed in the months before the wedding to talk about the content. She was fantastic and had been talking to my guests for the hour they were waiting for me to show up! We had our own vows and our best man Martin, did a reading for us – we chose the lyrics of the great Elvis Presley song, Love me tender. The sun shone throughout the whole service and it was a crisp, chilly day but I don’t remember feeling cold at all. The castle location is wonderful, I don’t remember seeing much of it due to the excitement of getting married but the pictures speak volumes and my family and friends all said how beautiful it was.

We had hired an old fashioned trolley bus to transport our guests from Central Park to DUMBO in Brooklyn where our reception was held and we were not disappointed! NY Trolley Co’s Dave had been great in our email correspondence and Cat had spoken to him the day before to organise where to meet us and all the fine details – which she didn’t have to do, but did because she was brill. We supplied some beer and sparkling wine, cups & music for the guests and the idea was to have a mini tour on the way to Brooklyn, but because I was so late getting to the ceremony, they didn’t get to have much of a tour but they all loved it anyway.

Reception was held in a place my friend Claire had researched on the Internet for us a bar/restaurant called reBar. I had exchanged approximately 100 emails with their wonderful events planner, Veronica and she had been so patient and accommodating. We couldn’t have been happier. The venue was perfect – we had the reGal room which had just opened and consisted of 2 rooms with its own private bathrooms. One room they had set up a long table for us and the other room, which had a bar in, we used to lay the food out and dance. There were about 20 of us in total and the rooms were exactly the right size. Our cake was made by Anne Heap and her team at Pink Cake Box, based in New Jersey. Again, we researched the net for a cake maker and this company were fantastic. Our cake was a 2 layer, jaunty angle, silver, pale blue and white (our colours) one with a ‘frosty day’ idea to it. The bottom layer was vanilla with rainbow sprinkles in and vanilla butter cream the top chocolate cake. There were snowflakes and stars on wires popping out the top and it was COVERED in glitter! Everyone was astounded with it and we could not have been happier.
Basically, everything was perfect on the day and having been a bride now and researching all the things you need for your wedding, I would have loved it if someone could have offered to chat to me about it, where to look, what to do, what to worry (or not worry)about, someone who had been there, done that – so I didn’t have to bother Lisa as I felt I was constantly taking up her time!

So you've just returned from Santorini where you met with your wedding planner and viewed the Suite of the Gods? What were your first impressions? What did you think of Santorini?

Well we visited Santorini back in 2007 and arriving again in August it was exactly how I remember - beautiful. We visited the venue with our wedding planner and I think actually being there knowing that it was the place we would be married I found myself completely overwhelmed! Note to other Santorini brides who are able to visit before their wedding...take a notebook with your questions I didn't because I was so confident I'd remember but being there and seeing the views they all completely went out of my head. Looking back now I think we did cover everything we needed.

I asked Carrie for some top tips to help our brides in preparing for their destination wedding, after all you need to consider the hot or cold climate and that you’ll be away from home, so you need to be prepared!

To start with I asked Carrie to tell us what she loves most about her work!

Being a nail technician and beauty therapist is extremely satisfying. Seeing your client reach their potential and leaving with a smile on their face, being happy with the treatments they have received and looking relaxed, pampered and beautiful is fantastic.
It’s a very sociable job too, I can have conversations with my clients and get to know them and have a bond of trust. My job is also flexible, so I can fit my work around my family life and have a good balance.

Considering our brides get married abroad how should they prepare their nails before the wedding.

From showcasing your ring to clasping your bouquet, your fingers will be a point of focus in your wedding photos. To get them in their best shape, start budgeting in weekly or bi-weekly manicures. A professional paint job will help you resist the urge to pick at ragged cuticles or bite your nails. If your hands are really parched use a rich cream that contains shea butter or argan oil, both are great moisturizers and last through multiple washings.

It’s not just your hands that need to be pampered, treat your tootsies to regular pedicures too! I recommend every 4 weeks, so that you can dance the night away on soft and pampered feet. In between treatments, use a foot file, pumice stone, or sanding block once a week. After showering, wet the tool and use it to gently buff your toes and heels until the skin feels smooth. The most crucial step is to apply moisturiser right after.

What are the best tones and colours you’d recommend for a manicure and pedicure?

Being a bride is all about the details - right down to the polish on your nails. Before you hit the aisle, choose the perfect nude for your manicure and the best bright for your pedicure.

Nail Colour for Dark Skin.
For those with deep complexions, choose a semi-opaque lacquer in shades of peach, pink, or nude. Anything lighter, such as sheer pink, will make you look like you forgot to get a manicure.

Nail Colour for Medium Skin.
Olive-toned brides should reach for sheer, sunny hues for maximum impact. Where as cool shades like bubble-gum pink can make medium tones appear sickly, yellow-based polishes such as peach and buttermilk create a subtle contrast, making skin look healthy, not washed out.

Nail Colour for Fair Skin.
If you're lily-white, then barely there shades will disappear against your skin. To bring some colour to your complexion, go for deeper neutrals such as juicy apricot or petal pink. Not only are they perfect for your tone, but these hues will create a super romantic feminine finish, too.

Nail colour for All Skin Tones.
An intense, fiery-red pedicure flatters every skin tone. Plus, it's the ultimate shade for a summer wedding or a beach honeymoon. There's no better way to celebrate than with a vivid colour. Try it on your toes for your big day.

Natural Inspiration.
Need a colour inspiration? Look around you - with the flowers, the beach, and the steamy weather itself, inspiration is all around.

If someone is considering waxing for the first time for their wedding abroad what should they know and consider?

Waxing can be painful for the first few times then you “get used to it". It can also be painful if your hair is long and it also depends on which body part is being waxed, of course! You may find that having your legs waxed is not as painful as underarm. It also depends on your pain threshold. Some women find waxing really painful, others find it not so bad, and others even say that it doesn’t hurt at all. I have found that if you take paracetamol or ibuprofen an hour before your treatment it can help with the pain.

You need to wax every 4 to 6 weeks and I would recommend two days minimum before you go away. Your pores open when waxed and you need to allow at least 24 hours before swimming or applying any creams to avoid inflammations.

What are your top tips for the wedding day.

Be extra careful before and on the day of your wedding. Try to avoid putting your hands in water as this can encourage peeling and chipping of your polish. Try to avoid being heavy handed and using your nails as tools. If your nails are prone to chipping and you don’t think they will last, I would recommend having nail enhancements, either acrylic or silk. Your nail technician will be able to go through the pros and cons of each system depending on your needs and preference.

I've said it before, and hopefully I'll get to say it again, it's always nice to hear that our bride and grooms had a great time at their wedding abroad.
Lucy and Chris were married in Santorini. They had their wedding at Nomikos and their wedding reception at Santorini Princess Hotel (which I love! the views froom here are amazing, and the sunset, oh!), anyway, here is Lucy's testimonial.

We had an amazing holiday, we absolutely loved the island of
Santorini it was beautiful.
Michael was brilliant support when we arrived on Santorini, he met us at the exact time he promised & took us to the ceremony site & the reception venue to show us where everything would take place... we were NOT disappointed as you said, just stunning, we were blown away with both locations, it was amazing.
We had a chat with the owners of Santorini Princess, showed them our seating plan, discussed who was having what menu, confirmed drinks etc, times of speeches & when we wanted the food. They were lovely & made us feel safe in their hands on our big day.
The food on our wedding day was beautiful & the staff were very friendly & really
looked after us to ensure we had a good time. The time you suggested for our
ceremony was spot on, it gave us enough time for photos & for all our guests
to get to Santorini Princess hotel in time for the sunset which was amazing.
Every little detail was arranged how we asked it to be, from my hair trial
to my make up, the musicians, the flowers, the wedding vows...perfect.
The DVD of our wedding & photos are gorgeous, we received them before we
travelled home, very nice memories to keep! We have our wedding party on
Saturday so cant wait to celebrate with all our family & friends who
couldn't be with us.
Would you be able to point us in the right direction
once we receive our marriage certificate as I know it needs translating.
I can't thank you & your team enough for all you have done to ensure that we
had the perfect day, I know there is no way we could have planned it on our own
& I would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone as I know you will look
after them as you have with me!!

Winter Wedding Flowers!

I’ve always had a fondness for winter weddings. My own wedding was on the 20th of December 2003 and I had deep red grand prix roses for my bouquet. Anything goes with winter weddings however the most popular colour schemes tend to be deep red and greens, gold and red, or sparkly white!
The bouquet below is similar to the one I had. My colour scheme was red and gold, yes very traditional!

Winter landscapes can often lack colour and be quite barren so the bouquet is a great way to add a pop of colour, it also provides a great contrast to your wedding photographs, like in the photograph here.

Other ways to add a touch of Christmas into your bouquet is with holly and ivy, pine cones or even feathers, lace and rich velvet for added texture!
I love this bouquet below, a mix of red roses calla lilies and red berries.

Winter is a great time to add some sparkle, it’s the most glamorous time of year so go to town with glitz and style! This bouquet is the perfect mix of elegance and glamour!

If you prefer something softer, then wintery whites with feathers and lace create a stylish bouquet perfect for the festive season. The only thing to consider here is to add something which will help the bouquet stand out against your dress especially if it’s the same colour!

Vintage themes work really well with winter weddings, especially in a city location, this bouquet is incredibly modern but with a vintage twist and a soft edging of feathers.

If you’re completely untraditional then you may appreciate this bouquet of lilac with pine cones, will certainly draw some attention!

One of the most unique bouquets we’ve created was for a bride that wanted black flowers. She had a gorgeous red dress and the black bouquet complemented it perfectly. I don’t think this is a colour that many people could pull off but Kara looked amazing!

Sorry I have not been in touch since we have been back however things have been pretty hectic, on the first day we got back we found out our house move was on and so have been sorting that out as well as the wedding party!
I am just emailing to say thank you so much for everything you did towards arranging our wedding. It really was the most perfect day!
What can I say about Cameo Island, other than STUNNING! It was the most amazing location and perfect for us and we absoloutely adored it! We hadn't been to see it before the wedding and I, personally, am glad I didn't as it was a lovely surprise to see it for the first time on the day (although I did get a sneak peek when we came in to land).
As you can probably see from the pictures the weather was perfect! 34 degrees, so the shade on the other side of the island was much appreciated as was the air con in the wedding car!!
Francis was amazing and made things so easy for us on the day, I knew everything was in safe hands with Francis there! The photographer (apologies I cannot remember her name) from Storystudios and the videographer both were fantastic, so professional and the photos have turned out brilliantly.
The food at the Vardiola was lovely and there was so much of it! Many of our guests commented that it was the best food they'd had at a wedding! The fireworks were great, a surprise for our guests and a great way to finish off our first dance. I could go on and on and on about how brilliant everything was, but I'm sure I'd will bore you in the end!!
All of our guests are still talking about how amazing the day was and what a great time they had and we have wonderful memories that we will remember forever! We will certainly be making many a return trip to Tsilivi and Cameo! The people were all friendly and welcoming and Zante is just beautiful.
I have already spoken to two people who want to get married abroad and I have recommended you!

Great to hear from you.
I was actually trying to find the time to sit down and write you an email as we haven't stopped since we returned last week.
We wanted to say a huge thank you for making our wedding such an amazing day and most importantly stress free. We could not have wished for a more perfect wedding. Even though we decided to keep our wedding low key, it was the right decision for us as the wedding was very intimate and was exactly how we always imagined our special day to be.
As for the venue, we decided to wait until the actual day of the wedding so we could enjoy the same wow factor as our family and it certainly didn't disappoint. The Balcony is a beautiful place and the view overlooking the sea and being able to watch the sunset will never be forgotten. I can now understand why other previous brides have said how they wish they could get married all over again!
We would also like to thank the whole team in Zante, in particular, both Frances and Isabella. The support leading up to, during and after the wedding was more than we had ever expected. It was also a pleasant surprise to learn that our wedding pictures would be available for collection two days after the wedding and the fact that they came in such a beautiful album including all the negatives on a CD. The photographer (Nicolas) was a great guy, very relaxed and more than willing to listen to your own ideas which made the day even more enjoyable. He also stayed beyond his normal time and took lots of additional pictures.
I would also highly recommend the horse & carriage, it was a beautiful end to a beautiful day riding through Tsilivi. It also gave myself and my husband a little time on our own to look back on the day and to relax before the dinner.
Thank you so much once again for everything that you have done for us over the past two years. Your support has been invaluable throughout and I would highly recommend getting married abroad, especially if you find such a well organised and most importantly such a friendly bridal consultant as your good self.

Hiring a Wedding Planner

The most frequent question I’m asked is “why should I hire a planner, what are the benefits over planning the wedding myself?”

There are the regular easy answers such as “have you ever planned a wedding before?” “do you have the time to plan a wedding?” “Do you have any contacts abroad?” “Do you have any experience checking contracts, vetting suppliers, visiting venues, verifying their insurances and credentials and what assurance do you have of their professionalism at your wedding?”

However this year we’ve had a couple of instances that really highlight the importance of hiring a wedding planner if you want your wedding day to be a success. Even when mother nature works against you!

In New York our most popular wedding location is Central Park.

If there are 20 people or more you need to have a permit. This gives you exclusive use of your venue at the chosen time. The important thing here is not the amount of people in your wedding party, but the fact that it gives you exclusive use of the venue. At such a small cost, just $25 (about £15), it makes complete sense. We include this for all our weddings no matter the size as we believe you should not have to share the limelight on your wedding day whether there is just the 2 of your or if you have 40 guests.

However, in two separate instances this year, our wedding planner has arrived to complete her pre-wedding venue inspection before the wedding party arrive and other wedding parties have had to leave the area midway through their service. Luckily for the couples our wedding planner is a star and knows the park so well that she was able to recommend other venues close by which both the couples could use get to married at.

This is such an awful situation to be placed in, a circumstance that could have been so easily avoided if a permit had been ordered either by the couple or the wedding planner they had hired. What was even more shocking is that both of these couples had hired wedding planners that should have advised them about this!

Such a simple detail could have saved 2 wedding days from unnecessary upset. By hiring a good wedding planner you foresee these potential problems. Thinking ahead is all part of this business, it’s what our clients rely on us to do.

The second situation was also in New York, when Hurricane Irene was storming its way up the east coast of America. To everyone’s surprise it was heading to New York, the first in many years. The problem was the storm surge and the possibility of flooding which meant that all public transport including the subway was closed.

Our wedding was due to take place on Tuesday, however 45 of our clients guests were stuck in the UK because the airports in New York were closed due to the storm. Some quick thinking and planning by our New York vendors, who always go the extra mile, meant we managed to rearrange everything (including the park permit) for Wednesday. This gave enough time for the guests to fly out for the wedding and our bride had a wonderful day.

Can you imagine planning your wedding alone and having to make the decision to either cancel your wedding or reschedule it? Where would you start? This is the standard service we offer, good wedding planners excel themselves when things go to plan, but the real experts and professionals show their talents when things don’t go to plan even when mother nature works against us.

Food for thought when considering planning your own wedding, here or abroad!

Just a quick e mail to let you know we are now back in the UK
from our honeymoon. We wanted to express our sincere thanks for everything you

The wedding was absolutely fantastic - better than we could have ever wished for and everything went to plan. Michael was brilliant and the location at the Santorini Princess can only be described as awesome! The location, the weather, the staff and of course Michael and his partner were absolutely fantastic and I am still in a total dream about it all and continually looking at the photographs and the video we took and showing friends and family.
For some reason we were really nervous on the day and almost wishing it was the day after, but as soon as it all started and we arrived at the location we did not want it to finish. Everyone had a fabulous time. Egor (not sure of spelling) made fantastic cocktails at the hotel and all of our guests were so impressed by the way we were looked after and I felt extremely spoilt. It was if I was in heaven for the evening.
I enclose just a couple of photographs for you to see, but it is going to be so difficult to choose between them for an album as they are all so good.
Thank you for all your planning and I would recommend your company to anyone who wanted a wedding abroad.
Whilst writing, I understand that our marriage certificate should arrive in a week or two now, in Greek. Can you arrange the translation into English for us, or can you recommend anyone for us to get in touch with and do we have to register this in England separately?
On a final note, we were also extremely pleased with the service and friendly assistance that Jo gave us with the planning of our holidays and that of our family and friends. Lisa... we would just like to say a massive thankyou to you and your team for arranging our wedding in santorini, from start to finish we had nothing to worry about, from the flowers to the transport, everything was taken care of. Your santorini representative Micheal was an asset to you and your company, he was on hand whenever we needed him, and made sure somebody was with us throughout our day.
The ceremony at the Suites of the Gods was perfect and the greek musicians really set the scene with the amazing views in the background.

Sorry for the delay in responding. It's been hectic since we've been back, particularly with Stew just having yet another dentist appointment and eventually the tooth pulled (after three visits in Mykonos whilst we were there!!).

Anyway all well now -

The wedding was absolutely fantastic - better than we could have ever wished for and everything went to plan. Michael was brilliant and the location at the Santorini Princess can only be described as awesome! The location, the weather, the staff and of course Michael and his partner were absolutely fantastic and I am still in a total dream about it all and continually looking at the photographs and the video we took and showing friends and family.

For some reason we were really nervous on the day and almost wishing it was the day after, but as soon as it all started and we arrived at the location we did not want it to finish. Everyone had a fabulous time. Egor (not sure of spelling) made fantastic cocktails at the hotel and all of our guests were so impressed by the way we were looked after and I felt extremely spoilt. It was if I was in heaven for the evening.

I enclose just a couple of photographs for you to see, but it is going to be so difficult to choose between them for an album as they are all so good.

Thank you for all your planning and I would recommend your company to anyone who wanted a wedding abroad.

Whilst writing, I understand that our marriage certificate should arrive in a week or two now, in Greek. Can you arrange the translation into English for us, or can you recommend anyone for us to get in touch with and do we have to register this in England separately?

On a final note, we were also extremely pleased with the service and friendly assistance that Jo gave us with the planning of our holidays and that of our family and friends. She was very personable and we would definitely like to book through her for any future holidays that we might plan. I will of course send her a separate email of thanks.

The day itself was perfect and so relaxed and we enjoyed every minute, only the heat was a little bit much to manage but even the lovely Catarina and Wendy (local New Yorkers!) struggled so we didn't feel so bad. They were both so helpful and we can’t wait to see the pictures.

Everything went amazingly well! We had the most fantastic day and Santorini is the most beautiful island. Suite of the Gods was an absolutely breathtaking location and we definitely picked the right one, it exceeded both of our expectations. The staff were really nice and helpful too throughout the evening, nothing was too much bother for them.
We were also very pleased with Michael and his assistant Nina, they were both excellent on the day and made sure everything ran smoothly.

THANK YOU so much the day was the best EVER!!

From the start to the finish it could not have gone any better, when we first met Lakis at the harbour to go over the details he was very welcoming, he was very thorough checking a few times we were happy with all the arrangements. Then the next day he collected us and we done the legal documents at the Town Hall, he said I was very organised!! All went smoothly so we enjoyed the next few days by the pool, topping up my tan of course :-) then the children and guests joined us and the FUN began.

Friday afternoon of the wedding I painted my Mum's toe nails, nails and done her make-up then Maria done a few guests hair, then it was my turn, hair and make-up was amazing, I never imagined it to look so lovely I was so happy!! Then to top it off my Bridesmaid collected the bouquets of flowers and they were absolutely gorgeous.Then put my wedding dress on, then off we go......all staff were brilliant on board the Yacht and it was definitely the magical day I had always hoped for.

All our guests had a fabulous time and could not believe a wedding could be so relaxed!!

So thank you so much for helping arrange our special day, especially with a few guests added on less than a week to go! and for answering all our questions, I will definitely be recommending you to all my friend and family, as long as it's not as good as ours lol
and the photos were amazing I never in a million years expected them to look so great and we all loved watching the dvd it was brilliant, the photographer and the cameraman were so friendly and professional.

I could talk about it all day lol but I better carry on with the unpacking, we moved the Friday before we flew out to Paphos so it's been all go!!

I just wanted to send you an email to thank you so much for everything you did in planning and organising our wedding.
When we met with Lakis we were really impressed by his professionalism, knowledge and how thorough he was. He went through everything a couple of times and left us in no doubt that we were in very safe hands. He was absolutely amazing and I can't thank him enough. He didn't even stop looking after us once the wedding was over, making sure our wedding party got to the airport ok and coming to our hotel with the album and DVD and making sure we had a taxi arranged to take us back to the airport. Lovely man and fantastic at his job.
The staff on the yacht were incredible, they really couldn't have done enough for us and were absolutely brilliant – the dance-off they started at the end of the evening was the icing on top of the cake. Everyone loved them and had an amazing time. The food was brilliant and the way that they had decorated the yacht was just perfect.
The photographers were also lovely. Very professional but friendly at the same time and the photos are amazing – it was so hard to choose just 50!
Finally we both want to say a massive thank you to you. From the moment we met you, we knew we wouldn't trust anyone else to plan our wedding. You have been on hand at all hours to answer our questions and provide reassurance and we really can't thank you enough. Dear Lisa,

We have just got back from 2 wonderful weeks in Cyprus.

All the emails and phone calls paid off we couldn’t have asked for a better day it really was so special.

We can not thank you enough for helping us plan and put together the most perfect wedding, everything was beautiful and more then I could have imagined it truly was a fantastic day, everyone who came to the wedding haven’t stopped talking about it (handed out your number to a few people)

The actual morning of the wedding was surprisingly stress free and relaxed

Damian surprised mum, Jack and me with breakfast delivered to the room we sat eating pancakes on the balcony over looking the sea, then the bridesmaids came followed by hairdressers who where absolutely amazing done everyone’s hair exactly how they asked then Sandra came with the flowers which I can only describe as stunning my bouquet of pink and cream roses looked perfect.

I will say one thing though my nervous and worries beforehand where completely unnecessary the hotel is fabulous and Sandra was great on the day. We are already planning going back in October.

Hi Lisa

It was amazing! Words cannot describe how brilliant the day was, everything was so seamless… the horse and carriage arrived on time, the weather was perfect, the food was great – I can’t fault a single thing, it was the best day of my life and Andrew would say the same thing! A lot of our guests told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and everyone complimented the food (which I think is a rare thing for a wedding!)

The service itself was really lovely, it was about 25 minutes long and the guy doing it (I forget his name but I do have it written down at home so I can thank him) was great, he made it poignant but also threw in some humour throughout, and I would certainly recommend him. The Greek dancing started in between the starter and the main course which was a truly brilliant way of breaking up the meal and giving us more time to digest the massive portions! Everyone was up dancing with them! Then after the food the Irish Band started and again they were truly brilliant, they really got the place hopping and got everyone up dancing and enjoying themselves! After that was the DJ who played all our requests and kept going until the early hours. We left about 5am but the party was still going strong when we left! All the guests just seem to go crazy and loose all their inhibitions! J

I cannot thank you (and Francis) enough for such a wonderful day, nothing could have topped it or made it any better.

Hi Lisa,

Daf and I returned home from our honeymoon in Las Vegas yesterday - jet lagged but full of happy memories of our big day!

So it was a lovely surprise to wake up this morning to find our photos had arrived! Many, many thanks to Trix - they are absolutely beautiful and really capture the day. My mum popped around earlier so we showed the pics to her...she was so impressed, she couldn't stop looking at them!

It was such a fabulous day - Catriana was lovely and after meeting her in Starbucks, we knew we were in safe hands and that everything would be perfect. In fact, I wasn't nervous at all on the day - just really excited and relaxed!! Suzanna gave a beautiful service and our vows were very touching.

Moran's was an excellent venue - it gave a classy yet relaxed atmosphere. The guests loved the food and everyone let their hair down on the dance floor - even those who don't usually dance!!

Thank you so much Lisa for making our day perfect. You've been brilliant throughout - always giving really sound and prompt advice. I didn't know where to start when it came to planning a wedding overseas and am notoriously awful at decision making, so we owe so much to you! Many of our guests even commented it was the best wedding they've ever been to!

I'm mostly excited now. I'm not nervous at all, I just can't believe that 4 weeks today I'll no longer be a Miss! I had my stressing/anxious Bridezilla moment at the start of the year but I've come out the other side and I'm quite relaxed and looking forward to the whole thing. Stuart on the other hand is very tense and stressed. I think because we agreed I would do the planning bit and he would do the travel and accommodation bit, all the pressure is on him now. Hopefully once we're on the plane he'll settle down and begin to look forward to it.

Ash Cloud update

The new volcanic ash cloud from Iceland is expected to reach UK airspace by early Tuesday morning but authorities are not expecting airspace closures to reach the same levels as during last year’s crisis.

The plume of ash from the Grimsvotn volcano is expected to reach Scotland by the early hours of Tuesday and could then move into England later in the week according to the latest weather projections from the Met Office.

A CAA spokesman said: “Lessons have been learnt from last year and we do not envisage the same kind of airspace closures that affected the UK in April and May last year.”

The CAA will be holding conference calls with air traffic controller Nats and airlines during the day to monitor the situation as the cloud approaches.

“We now know because of research that airlines can cope with lower concentrations of ash,” added the CAA spokesman.

“They will have to avoid areas with the highest concentrations of ash but they can fly around these areas and operate in areas with lower concentrations.

“We are plotting where the plume is heading and being guided by the Met Office. We should be well prepared for the any ash entering UK airspace tomorrow.”

The CAA said that “safety would be the key thing” if ash does reach UK airspace again and airlines would have to present their own research to show that they can fly safely through any ash cloud.

“We are not going to let any airlines operate if there are any safety concerns,” added the spokesman.
